Cardiac Operating Room
Cardiac Operating Room is a perioperative care unit with five (5) theaters. Cardiac specialty services cover adult, pediatric, and neonatal surgical procedures. OR 1 is allocated as a Hybrid laboratory, a combined Interventional Radiology and Operating Room in a closed sterile environment.
The rest of the OR's are allocated for all Cardiac Surgical Procedures, including Heart Transplantation. Other surgical procedures are also performed in the COR as agreed by the Operating Room Management Board Committee.
Patient Population: Adult and paediatrics mixed gender.
Hours of Operation: 0700 – 2200 (Sun to Thurs). 2 teams provide emergency coverage 7 days per week after hours.
Occupancy Rate: 850 Patients per month
Staff Categories: Nurse Manager, Clinical Resource Nurse, Nurse Coordinator, Staff Nurse I & II, Patient Care Technician.

Pediatric Open Heart Surgery e.g. TOF, Switch, Fontan, Glenn, TAPVD, AV Canal, AVSD Repair
Non Pump-PDA, Coarctation of the Aorta, BT Shunt, PA Banding
Re-explorations (Drainage, Reconstruction, Washout)
Diagnostic /Surgical Inventions (Bronchoscopy, Laparoscopy, Tracheostomy, Gastrostomy)
